TERRY JARDIN
DIRECTOR OF SALES
Terry Jardin
Follies Director of Sales, Terry Jardin, has overseen a number of innovations in the 16 years since she came to the Follies. But her primary focus remains the same: to make sure each patron receives the utmost in individual attention. Any change Jardin implements is designed so that attending the Follies is like being welcomed into a friend’s home.
The Follies website now allows patrons to select the exact seats they want, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. “But we will never let technology get in the way of providing personal attention to Follies patrons,” vows Jardin. “We built a ‘Contact Us’ feature into the ticket selection process so that, at any point, an Internet user can request a personal phone call from an actual representative here at the Plaza Theatre.”
Changes have also been made this year to help smaller groups attend the Follies: bookings are now accepted for groups with as few as ten people, with the group discount varying with the size of the party. “People have a lot of fun attending the Follies with their friends,” she says. “In fact, I have a set of friends, now scattered all over California, who hold a reunion every year in Palm Springs so they can get together, catch up and attend the Follies en masse.”
And many Follies groups are supporting charities while they enjoy the show. Group tickets are purchased at a discount, then sold to group members at full price or whatever amount they should select. They then donate the difference to their specific cause. “By extending group sales to groups as small as ten people,” Jardin reports, “we allow smaller groups to support their favorite charities while participating in the fun of a group event.”
For her devotion to quality customer service, and for her travels all over the United States as “goodwill ambassador” on behalf of the Follies and the Coachella Valley, Jardin was named the 2001 “Outstanding Hospitality Business and Attraction Person” by the Palm Springs Desert Resorts Convention and Visitor’s Bureau.
